We are currently recruiting for a General Assistant to join our team at one of our workplace restaurants in Wiltshire SN13 9NP.

This is a zero hour contract, working between 7am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

A General Assistant supports the smooth day-to-day running of catering operations by maintaining high standards of food preparation, service, and cleanliness while delivering excellent customer care. The role involves assisting chefs with food preparation, serving food, advising customers on menu choices, and ensuring front-of-house areas are well presented and fully stocked. Responsibilities also include maintaining clean and hygienic workspaces, completing scheduled cleaning tasks, and ensuring crockery, cutlery, and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. A General Assistant must be flexible, able to adapt to varying daily tasks, work effectively as part of a team, and uphold professional standards in customer service, appearance, and communication.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 5
• Be customer focused
• Have basic food knowledge
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
